ABOUT US

At PlantCare360, we believe that keeping plants healthy, beautiful, and thriving should be accessible to everyone — whether you’re nursing a single pothos on a windowsill or managing a full allotment in the Yorkshire rain. Founded by passionate gardeners, plant scientists, and horticultural enthusiasts, our mission is simple: cut through the noise of conflicting advice, endless product claims, and Instagram myths to bring you honest, expert-led guidance on everything the plant world has to offer.

Our Story

It started, as so many good things do, with a dead plant. Then another. And frankly, a few more after that.

What began as a small group of frustrated plant owners swapping tips, testing products, and desperately Googling “why are my monstera leaves yellowing” has grown into one of the UK’s most trusted plant care resources. We’ve been there — standing in the garden centre, completely overwhelmed by eighteen different composts, unsure whether to reach for the neem oil or the systemic insecticide, wondering if that expensive grow light is genuinely worth the electricity bill.

We built PlantCare360 because we couldn’t find the resource we actually needed. Not a site full of vague advice lifted from American gardening blogs that ignores British weather, British soil, and the very real challenge of growing anything in a north-facing flat in Manchester. We wanted real answers, tested products, and guidance written for the way people in the UK actually garden.

Our team brings together horticulturists, RHS-trained gardeners, plant scientists, allotment veterans, and devoted houseplant collectors who understand both the science of plant care and the practical realities of doing it on a real budget, in a real British climate, with real British soil.

What We Do

Rigorous, Hands-On Product Testing

Every product we review goes through genuine, extended use — not a quick unboxing or a single afternoon in the garden. We test compost mixes across multiple growing seasons. We run grow lights through the dark British winter months and measure the difference they make. We put secateurs through hundreds of cuts and track how the blade holds up. We stress-test raised bed kits through wet winters and baking July heatwaves. If a product promises results, we find out whether it actually delivers them.

Honest, Long-Term Plant Reviews

Our reviews reflect weeks and months of real growing experience — not sponsored content dressed up as independent opinion. We track how a slow-release fertiliser performs across an entire growing season. We document whether a self-watering planter genuinely reduces watering frequency or quietly drowns roots. We test pest control products on real infestations, in real homes, and tell you what worked and what didn’t. No fluff. No filler.

Plant Science Made Practical

Beyond product recommendations, we provide clear, approachable education on plant biology, soil science, propagation techniques, pest identification, and seasonal care. We translate the complicated stuff — NPK ratios, soil pH, mycorrhizal fungi, photoperiodism — into plain English that actually helps you make better decisions. Understanding why your plant needs something is always more useful than blindly following a care card that was written for a different climate on a different continent.

Recommendations for Every Budget

Quality plant care doesn’t require a premium subscription to some lifestyle brand. Our recommendations span everything from budget-friendly options at under £10 to professional-grade investments worth every penny, always weighing up performance against price. Because growing things should be for everyone.

Our Expertise

  • Combined experience spanning horticulture, plant science, botany, and hands-on growing across allotments, gardens, and indoor spaces
  • Hundreds of products tested annually — from potting composts and fertilisers to grow lights, greenhouses, and power tools
  • RHS-aligned knowledge ensuring our guidance reflects established British horticultural best practice
  • UK-specific plant care focus — because what works in California doesn’t always work in Cumbria
  • Peat-free compost expertise keeping pace with the UK’s shift away from peat, and helping you find alternatives that genuinely perform
  • Seasonal British growing calendar built around real UK frosts, hosepipe bans, clay soils, and grey November skies
  • Long-term testing protocols tracking product performance across multiple growing seasons, not just a single harvest

Our Values

Results Over Marketing

Every recommendation is built on performance, not packaging. The gardening industry is awash with bold claims, clever branding, and celebrity-endorsed products that don’t live up to the hype. We cut through it. If a £6 own-brand feed outperforms a £25 premium bottle, we’ll tell you that — plainly and without apology.

Plant Health First

Our recommendations prioritise the long-term health of your plants, your soil, and your garden ecosystem. That means honest conversations about sustainable practices, organic alternatives, and why feeding the soil is often more important than feeding the plant. Quick fixes that cause long-term harm don’t make it onto our recommended lists, full stop.

Honest, Unbiased Assessment

The best product for you depends on your specific situation — your climate, your soil type, whether you have a sun-drenched south-facing border or a perpetually damp north-facing corner, your budget, and your experience level. We assess products honestly, strengths and weaknesses both, and trust you to make your own informed decision.

Inclusive Growing for Everyone

Whether you’re a first-time plant parent in a city flat, a retired allotment holder in rural Wales, or a hobbyist building your first greenhouse in a Scottish garden, plant care is for you. We test and recommend across all experience levels, space constraints, climates, and budgets — because growing things is one of the most rewarding things a person can do, and everyone deserves to get it right.

Why Trust Us?

Real-World, Real-Season Testing. Our team grows plants. Properly. We deal with vine weevil and fungus gnats and the particular despair of a late frost killing off seedlings you’ve been nurturing since February. Products are tested across full growing seasons, through British winters, and under actual UK conditions — not in a laboratory, and not in Southern California.

Horticultural Expertise. Our team’s knowledge spans formal horticultural training, RHS qualifications, plant science, and years of hands-on growing experience. When we talk about soil pH or nitrogen deficiency, we know what we’re talking about — and we know how to explain it in a way that’s actually useful.

Personal Investment. We are genuinely, sometimes embarrassingly, obsessed with plants. We understand the quiet thrill of a new leaf unfurling on a plant you nearly killed, and the frustration of spending money on products that simply don’t work. That personal stake makes us better, more careful, more honest reviewers.

Independent Evaluation. We maintain strict independence from plant and gardening brands. Our affiliate partnerships — which help keep this site running — never influence our recommendations. We would far rather point you away from an expensive product that doesn’t deliver than earn a commission on something we don’t believe in.

Our Commitment to You

We’re here to help you:

  • Grow with confidence — with product recommendations and care guidance you can genuinely rely on
  • Make informed decisions — backed by clear explanations of what products do, why they work, and what to realistically expect
